Winner: Magazine of the Year at the Western Magazine Awards

We are pleased to announce that at the 2013 Western Magazine Awards held on Friday, June 21, 2013, Border Crossings was named Magazine of the Year – Manitoba, and Magazine of the Year – Western Canada. In addition to winning Magazine of the Year, contributor Katie Addlemann won the Gold Medal for her article, “Head On: Flashpoints and Clashpoints in the Art of Adad Hannah” (Issue 122).

Border Crossings received 4 nominations in 3 categories: Best Regular Column (Meeka Walsh - Bordernotes and Robert Enright - Bordercolumn), Best Article, and Magazine of the Year. Nominees for the Magazine of the Year – Western Canada are comprised of the 5 provincial winners.

Western Magazine Awards Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Vancouver, British Columbia, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors appointed by sitting members of the Board. The Western Magazine Awards Foundation was established on March 1, 1983 in Vancouver, BC.

We are honoured to be given the title of Magazine of the year - Western Canada.
