Presented by the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver, “Blame It On the Rain,” Julia Dault’s latest solo exhibition, is to include new and recent works. Related to “Color Me Badd,” on view last fall at the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in Toronto, the two institutions will collaborate on a monograph co-published by Black Dog Publishing.

Interviewed for Border Crossings’ Issue 126 launched at the Venice Biennale in 2013, the conversation with the artist can be read online now. Creating art after years of critical writing, Dault has contributed a number of pieces to our publication as well: peruse them. Back issues can be purchased online.

Dault is represented by Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York; Jessica Bradley Gallery, Toronto; and China Art Objects Galleries, Los Angeles.

The Opening Reception for “Blame It On the Rain” will be Thursday, April 30, 7-10pm.

Michelle Jacques, chief curator at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, will host a conversation with the artist on Saturday, May 2 at 1pm at CAG.
