King Charles III Coronation Medal for Community Service

The King Charles III Coronation Medal for Community Service is a commemorative medal created to mark the Coronation of King Charles which took place on 6 May 2023.

On 18 February 2025 recipients selected by Senators The Honourable Marilou McPhedran, CM and The Honourable Flordeliz (Gigi) Osler were invited by The Honourable Anita R. Neville, PC, OM, Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, to receive the King Charles III Coronation Medal at the Ceremony held at Government House, Winnipeg.

Border Crossings Editor, Meeka Walsh CM was honoured, with others, to receive this medal. Her citation read, in part, “Known by many in the international art world as a ‘Canadian cultural icon’, she was a Trustee of the National Gallery of Canada, a gold medallist of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 2017.”
