Praemium Imperiale Arts Award receipients: Cindy Sherman, Paulo Mendes da Rocha
The 2016 Praemium Imperiale International Arts Award has been given to photographer Cindy Sherman, sculptor Annette Messager, architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha, and filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
The honor, now in its twenty-eighth year, is regarded as one of the most prestigious prizes in art, architecture, and film. Recent Golden Lion winner at the Venice Biennale for Architecture, Paulo Mendes da Rocha was recently interviewed for Border Crossings’ Issue 138: Art + Architecture by collaborating editor and architect Eduardo Aquino.
Issue 138: Art + Architecture will be launching in Montréal at the Canadian Centre for Architecture on September 24 at 2pm.
